Hamburg

The trip to Hamburg was so much fun, and the city is incredibly beautiful. It is quite different from Berlin in respect to the U-bahn system, as the subways in Hamburg are not always underground as they are in Berlin. I found this difference a refreshing change from the constant underground tunnels of Berlin and the layout of the tracks were slightly less confusing than Berlin. Hamburg is one of the largest ports in Europe, and this definitely can be seen in the city culture.

The trip from Berlin to Hamburg and back was fun. On the way, I sat next to Katie and we watched and discussed the the countryside. Most of the farmland reminded me of home (Indiana) as it was flat, and the skies were a hazy white color. But one thing that differed from home was that thick forests would pop up out of nowhere, and this was a nice change of pace from continuous farmland. On the return trip, it was too dark to observe the countryside, but Konstantine and I had an thorough discussion covering many different topics. All in all, both trips were exciting and felt like the time flew by.
